Get Ready for the Books Bash!

Judy Ochse, an ASCD associate editor, just reported in from the Rosen Centre Hotel Ballroom, where everyone is busy setting up for the Books and Fun in the Sun Bash. With people bustling about setting up carnival games, blowing up balloons, and making preparations for thousands of revelers, Judy says that, "the ballroom has become a city unto itself."

Kathleen Burke, annual conference director, and Jan McCool, annual conference manager, just came in from overseeing the set up of all the booths in the convention center. They told Judy how excited they are that, through the blog, everyone who can't make it to conference will still be able to keep up with the happenings in Orlando.

Then Kathleen and Jan were both off to continue helping set up for the Bash, as was Judy, who exclaimed, as she surveyed the festive attractions being assembled, "it's amazing how it all comes together. Everybody just pitches in and helps out. It really is a party with a purpose."

If you're not already on your way to the Bash, head out now. You won't want to miss it. Check back here tomorrow for a full report on the festivities.
